Let’s place the race card, the sexual orientation card, the gender card, the religious card, and even the generation card back in the deck for this conversation.
When was the last time you helped someone just to…help? If you’re like me, you’re appalled as to what you’re seeing our society crumble to. People are quick to lash out and label others, expect others to take care of them without accepting responsibility. People today have their hands out for them and not for their fellow citizen.
There’s got to be a way to reengage a crumbling society to get it back on it’s feet. I believe the answer is only within us. We cannot depend on the government, we cannot control the actions of others, we cannot stand idly by.
Let’s place the race card, the sexual orientation card, the gender card, the religious card, and even the generation card back in the deck for this conversation. There are way too many people waiting for others to take actions on their behalf. People are their own worst enemies and all too often would rather remain victims than to take action to climb out. Now don’t get me wrong, some people are dealt crappy hands, but there are also examples of people (see Eric Thomas aka E.T. the Hip Hop Preacher) who made the decision to REALIZED HIS SITUATION, TOOK RESPONSIBILITY, and CLIMBED OUT.

Have you ever seen Pay It Forward? I love the message. The concept is to help three people solve their issues with no expectation for a reward. If they offer a reward simply say “Pay it forward.” Now the idea is for them to do the same for three others…in a perfect world…eventually your small three favors can help others exponentially.
Sounds silly? Possibly. But I have helped others only to say “Pay it forward.” My take away is on how it stirs my soul. It feels awesome to have the ability to help others achieve what they could not do on their own.
If the stirring of the soul is not enough for you, then take comfort in knowing that what goes around comes around and will eventually find its way back to you. What you invest in the universe around you will come back to you. “Whoever brings blessings will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.” – Proverb 11:25
Finally…watch this video “This Left the Audience Speechless, This is Why You’re Not Happy”, courtesy of Absolute Motivation.
I believe that what you put out you will receive. My challenge to you is to go out and help someone simply just for the sake of helping. I think you’ll be surprised when the next hand comes out…it’ll be for you.
What are your thoughts? If you’ve accepted the challenge and have seen results, please comment and share below.
